Women and their difficult lives in Ethiopia
Being a woman is hard. Maybe not for all of us, but relatively women in the world have it much more difficult than men. In Ethiopia, it is more difficult for them to get education and job, especially when they get married and have children. Unfortunately, men sometimes simply disappear from their lives and do not care much about the fate of their children. Recently, we gave an injera-making kit to two single mothers to give them a chance to earn a decent living and feed their own children.
Mengesha had been coming to the open classes for some time. Million is a boy we met on the street while working in the field. Both families are extremely poor. They have nothing to live on, so their children went out to the streets. Now they are starting school. However, so that they have something to eat, we give their mothers a chance to live better. We hope that they will cope and their situation will change even more positively.
The injera kits were financed as part of the project “Improving the living conditions of socially excluded children in Awassa through social rehabilitation, professional activation of their families and renovation of the center where they live.”Project co-financed within the framework of the Polish development cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland.
