Project of a rehabilitation center

We present the main tasks of the facility located in Awassa.

ENVIRONMENTAL LOUNGE

ENVIRONMENTAL LOUNGE

Street children are invited to the day room, where we organize various educational activities, games, games and workshops for them in various fields, as well as activities with a psychologist, motivational, and lectures on hygiene, health and life skills. Children are also informed about the opportunities offered by the center and encouraged to join the Orientation Program.
INDICATION PROGRAM

INDICATION PROGRAM

Initially, children are admitted for a short period. It is a time of observation and building a trust relationship. The main task of employees and educators is to investigate the actual socio-family situation of the child (did he go to school, does he have a family, and if so, what is the main source of income, whether he lives or works on the street, whether the child is addicted to life on the street, etc.) .
REHABILITATION PROGRAM

REHABILITATION PROGRAM

Some children are qualified to participate in the rehabilitation program. They temporarily live in the center and undergo therapy under the supervision of specialists. There will be a variety of activities throughout the day, including remedial lessons. Children are given little responsibilities that will help them learn to be responsible and cooperate with others.
FAMILY REINTEGRATION PROGRAM

FAMILY REINTEGRATION PROGRAM

If the family situation allows it, the children return to their families. Before that, however, proper preparation of the family by social workers, purchase of clothes, uniforms, school supplies, material support, and then constant contact of the family with the organization and control of school attendance and child's achievements are required.
PROFESSIONAL ACTIVATION PROGRAM

PROFESSIONAL ACTIVATION PROGRAM

Parents of children who are unable to find employment get a chance to undergo training, courses or apprenticeships that will prepare them for work in the chosen field. Some of them get the supplies they need to start their own business, such as preparing meals or sewing. Others get help finding work. Income-generating projects and professional training will allow families to become financially independent of the organization.
PROGRAM OF REINTEGRATION IN SOCIETY

PROGRAM OF REINTEGRATION IN SOCIETY

In the event that the child's family situation does not allow for its reintegration with the family, after completing the Rehabilitation Program, the project employees will help the child continue education at a boarding school, find foster care or other convenient place in society depending on the age and degree of independence. The mentees will be supported until they become independent.
