Temporary adoption is for children who are enrolled in the Indicative Program. This means a transitional stage, which is a daily stay in the center. They have regular classes, remedial lessons, games, time to fulfill their duties and maintain personal hygiene. They are at the center during the day and return home in the late afternoon.
Currently, eight boys have started the Indicative Program and we are looking for individual support for them.
Why is this a temporary adoption? Still a lot can happen. Although boys spend all their days on the street, they often have their own homes and families to which they always come back for the night. If all goes well after a month, maybe two, we will seek continued support so the boys can go to school. Their maintenance costs in the center amount to approximately USD 40 per month (including clothes, food, cleaning products, medical care, family visits, educational materials).Â
