Children’s age
Children usually are admitted to the center between the ages of 5 and 12. We don’t know their exact birthdays, and we usually estimate their ages roughly. We once celebrated their birthdays, and a year later, when asked by a staff member, a child’s age was lower than the previous year’s, and those candles were purchased for the cake. We also had a situation where, after a year, we decided the age we had set was too low or too high, and we adjusted it. Someone celebrated the same birthday twice, year after year, while someone else skipped a birthday. Some children remind me that their birthdays are even a few months before the correct date, because they think they are. These situations still make me laugh. It seems these mistakes don’t bother anyone much. No child has ever celebrated a birthday before coming to the center. So they’re happy about this opportunity.
