More than 120 children from the community center in the village of Tulo received school supply kits from us. We handed them out during the celebrations for New Year 2019, according to the Ethiopian calendar, of course. There was a lot of excitement. The children were waiting for their school supplies, looking inside and checking right away what they had received. Notebooks, pencils, pens and other things they need for school quickly found their way into the children’s hands. New Year is a time for celebration, coming together and starting another year with hope that it will be a good one. We were especially happy that we could add something to this special day that would be useful to the children not only during the celebrations, but throughout the coming school year.
