We are starting the implementation of the Polish development aid project “Improving the living conditions of socially excluded children in Awassa through social rehabilitation, professional activation of their families and renovation of the center where they live.” We plan to conduct open classes for street children, who will eventually start formal education by providing them with clothes, shoes and school supplies. The second main goal is professional activation and the start of a new round of workshops we run: hairdressing and beauty and tailoring, as well as the purchase of individual kits to start own business. The next action will be the renovation of the center, including replacing the sink and toilet, tiling the bathroom, purchasing kitchen cabinets and an electric stove, as well as electrical work and replacing lighting. All this will be possible thanks to the grant, for which we are extremely grateful.
