Family problems in Ethiopia
Better at home or in the center? There is no clear answer here. As a rule, I prefer to support children who live with their families, but:
– family pathologies don’t give children chance for normal development and education
– families are unable to take care of their basic needs, such as full board, on their own
– it often happens that such children continue to go out into the street and bad habits
– families usually do not show much interest in children
Children under our care would in most cases prefer to live in a center because of better living conditions, food, good learning conditions, more entertainment and in many cases, above all, the possibility of cutting off from family problems. Most families are happy to send their children to the center. Therefore, the refusal of the mothers of the three girls who were supposed to be in the center evokes negative emotions in me. Because the women spend their days on the street with their children. They can’t take care of them, they don’t have a normal job. I am afraid that our support and sending children to school will not stop them begging on the street. However, I hope that my fears will not turn out to be true and the girls will have a normal childhood.Do you want to be involved in changing the world of children for the better? It’s easy!
