Shumburu’s story
This is Shumburu. The first photo shows the boy more than two years ago, when the center did not exist yet. Back then, I used to talk to random street children. It was just a one-off meeting. I didn’t even remember his name. In the second photo of this week, Shumburu came to the center after school for weekly tutoring. He has been coming to us for many months, first as part of an open class, then as part of an orientation program, and finally as a student we support. Looking through one of my old presentations, I discovered that our Shumburu was in the photo. I don’t think he remembered me either.
