Pentecost in Ethiopia
Yesterday in Ethiopia we celebrated Pentecost (yes, in Poland it was a week ago) – we can also say that it is the birthday of the Church. And therefore I wanted to say something about the Church from my private perspective. The church is people, the community, my place. Since I was a child, I felt a part of it. In the Church, I met many of my friends and acquaintances. I was fortunate enough to meet many wonderful, dedicated priests. It was the Church that shaped me, gave me foundations, allowed me to develop in faith. Thanks to the community, I discovered my vocation and was able to follow it. I went on a mission sent by the Church and I serve in Her name to this day. Although the Barkot Foundation is not legally religious, it can exist largely thanks to the Church. Mainly in parishes, I raised the first money for the center, it was the Church who first trusted me that this project made sense. The Church continues to support us substantively and financially not only in Poland, but also in a few other countries. Yes, it was not always colorful. I myself have experienced unpleasant situations on the part of the Church, but is this a reason to cancel out all the good that I have received and still receive from Her? Does the fact that the group has some bad leaders (but also many good ones) mean that all members are bad? Well, not! I love our Church – let the Church not only live for 100 years, but until the end of the world.
