Brothers on the streets – who are the new charges?
Last week we welcomed two boys, brothers Habtamu and Mebratu. The boys were constantly on the street, even though they have family on the outskirts of Awassa. We went to visit them. Father deals in chat, a local legal drug. He has two wives and has children with both of them. They all live together in one rented house. Parents do not show much interest in their sons who were on the streets. They also had no problem with us wanting to take them to the center.
