Marufa’s story

Marufa (7) has both parents and a younger sister with whom he lives in the countryside just outside Awassa. The family is very poor – parents do not have a permanent job, so they live from day to day on various small odd jobs, if they can find something. The boy walked a few kilometers into the city every day to get some money or something to eat. He came to the center, where he began his adventure with education. As it was already the second school semester, he was enrolled in kindergarten so that he could learn school basics.
