Efrem was a street child. He wandered around with his friends, begged, and got high on gasoline. Although he has a family that is poor, but not extremely poor, he fell into bad company. He came to open classes quite often, but not regularly – many children who come directly from the street are like that. He asked us to support him so that he could learn. He wasn’t sure if he wanted to live in the center, and we doubted whether he would actually continue school if he stayed at home. Ultimately, we decided together that Efrem would live in the center to give him a chance for a better start. The boy has had a new home for a few days now.
