Missions in the Church – we are starting the first week
October has begun – the missionary month. Today is also the commemoration of the patron saint of the mission, St. Theresa of the Child Jesus. She spent her short life in a monastery, not on a mission, and became famous for writing a diary, where she wrote down beautiful content about faith and the Lord Jesus. She is a patron of missions because she has always prayed for the missions of the Church. This first week of the missionary month is devoted to prayer. Let us pray for missions, for new vocations, for missionaries and those in need. As you know, there are many needs. When I think about this beautiful vocation of mine, sometimes I am terrified of the responsibility that rests on me. Nevertheless, firstly, this is His mission, so God is doing the main job here, and secondly, the responsibility is not only mine, but the responsibility of the entire Church. Moreover, we are supported not only by those identifying with the Church, but also by many people of good will.
Thank you for your various support. If anyone would like to organize something missionary at school, in the parish or another place on the occasion of the missionary month, please contact me. It can be an online lesson, a meeting with Barkot children, an article, a school newspaper, there can be many ideas.
And finally, a quote from St. Theresa:”God uses people to hide his glorious presence, but he does not hide himself so much that it cannot be guessed.”
