Mitiku’s story

Mitiku

Mitiku (10 y.o) had been attending open classes at the center for a long time, but very irregularly. He and his siblings lived off what he begged. He had virtually no care and could do what he wanted, when he wanted. He lives with five siblings in a small apartment rented by his parents. The parents are usually absent, because they go to the village, where they have a piece of land, the crops of which they use to feed the family. Mitiku dropped out of school in the third grade due to hunger and difficult financial situation.

After being prepared at the center, we enrolled him in school. However, due to the lack of a certificate and lack of education, he went to the second grade of primary school. At the same time, we are still working with him in the center during our free time.
