Haile (11 years old) comes from a rather far village. He has both parents who have some crops of their own, which they live on. The boy came to Awassa with the hope of working with his older brothers in a furniture workshop. However, he did it without anyone’s consent. The brothers accepted him for a while, but they do not want the boy to continue working with them. Then he went out into the street. He found a group of street children to hang out with and spend all his time with. Haile dreams of something different in his life and he would like to learn. The boy came to our open program regularly, so we took him to the center. We enrolled him in school in the first grade of primary school. Haile starts education quite late, but we believe that he will manage and will be able to fulfill his dreams in the future.
